The US Department of Justice today released the affidavit detailing the reasons for the FBI’s recent search of the residence of former President NDonald Trump in Floridawhere hundreds of classified documents were found and seized.

A large part of this document of 38 pages has been censored so as not to reveal the identity of persons involved in the investigation.

Federal Judge Bruce Rinehart ordered the Justice Department to release the warrant, citing public interest in this unprecedented search of a former president’s home. At the same time, however, the judge accepted the ministry’s request to delete entire paragraphs of the document to protect the ongoing investigation.

The ministry waited until the last minute, at 12:00 noon Washington time, to release the warrant.

On August 8, the FBI searched his home Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Boxes of classified documents were seized that the Republican former president did not hand over after leaving the White House, despite repeated requests.

Entire paragraphs have been deleted on 23 of the document’s 38 pages.

He added that the Justice Department has reason to believe there are other such records in Trump’s home that were not returned to the government.

After the Mar-a-Lago search, federal agents took more than 20 boxes of documents, some marked “top secret.”
