According to the private news agency DHA, seven bullets were fired from outside the building targeting the office of the Federation president as well as a conference room located on the floor below. The perpetrators escaped in a car, while no injuries were reported.
The headquarters of TFF is located in Riva, northeast of Istanbul, on the shores of the Black Sea. Omer Çelik, the spokesman for the ruling AKP party, said he spoke with the Federation’s president, Mehmet Buyukesi, after the incident.
The governor of Istanbul, Ali Yerlikaya, said via Twitter that an investigation into the case is underway.
