Her mother abused her after she became jealous that her only son left home and moved in with her boyfriend.

Pauline Randles, 57, punched her son Simon in the face and kicked him in the leg after he told his partner, Lauren Stoker, to “take him away”.

For six weeks, Mrs Randles, from Neston, Cheshire, had been sending abusive emails to her son, who had just graduated as a British Transport Police officer.

In one of them he said:

He also threatened to overdose on prescription drugs if she didn’t meet his needs “immediately,” sending her a picture of a kitchen knife and saying he would cut his wrists.

In a statement, PC Randles, in her 30s, had to be rushed to hospital due to stress.

PC Randles used to have a good relationship with his mother, but after meeting Miss Stalker last May, the problems started.

According to Warrington Magistrate’s Court, he repeatedly asked his mother to stop contacting him and move on because he was having trouble installing an app on his phone to pay his utility bills.

She asked her son, but he refused, so she went to her brother Ronald’s house and tried to get him to do it, but he wouldn’t let her.

According to prosecutor Ashlee Simpson, PC Randles received an SOS call about the situation when he was out with his girlfriend.

When he drove up to the address, he saw his mother on the sidewalk and walked up to him and said, “Why are you here?” Miss Simpson said.

His girlfriend tried to walk away, but Randall stopped and his son grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the way.

“He tried to resist by kicking her legs and punching her in the face,” said Miss Simpson.

“He had no injuries, but had to be immobilized. The defendant kept trying to hit her as he did.

PC Randalls then let her mother into the facility, but she tried to force open the kitchen window and then the back door with a cable she pulled from her bra.

Reconciling Ms. Randles, defense attorney Howard Jones said: [her son] Walk and help in any business. He became increasingly isolated, depressed, and a drinker.

About the attack he said: In my opinion it was a very small attack.

“He didn’t want his son to appear in court, so he pleaded guilty. He is very frustrated with the whole situation.

“This is an elderly woman isolated at home with no criminal record. She then sent him some text messages that she later regretted.

“It is probably unfortunate that the police did not speak to Mr. Randles and warn him about the text message before he was convicted of this offence.

“Since this period includes Christmas, a restraining order will be like a bullet to his heart.”

Jones also said that she received a card from her son for his 57th birthday, adding:

“I want to get back to a mother-daughter relationship with my son.”

Ms. Randles pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damages of harassment and assault.

He was fined £120, ordered to carry out a community warrant for 12 months and banned from contacting PC Randles for 18 months.
