The company itself is talking about the biggest redesign of its brand since 1999, but for most, the changes are at least subtle. Of course, there are those who express harsh criticism.
Google changed its logo in 2015.
It wasn’t the first change, as the search giant has redesigned its logo six times since its inception in 1998.
The company itself is talking about the biggest redesign of its brand since 1999, but for most, the changes are at least subtle. Of course, there are those who express harsh criticism.
“It’s just a disaster. It looks childish, it doesn’t look sophisticated, it looks like plasticine,” Ina Saltz, a typography expert, tells CNN.
The hidden message in the Google logo and 5 other signs – Few know them-1
In practice, Google simply made the letters in its logo thicker to make it easier to read when the brand appears on small screens, such as on mobile phones or smart watches.
What hasn’t changed is the hidden message that has been planted in the Google logo for years. What is this?
The Google logo consists of four different colors – Blue, Green, Yellow and Red. But one of these colors is not like the others.
While blue, yellow and red are primary colors, green is secondary. As Ruth Kedar, who designed the logo, has explained, this choice was made on purpose and has a hidden meaning.
“We came up with the primary colors, but instead of following the same pattern as the series, we put a secondary color on the L, to convey the idea that Google doesn’t follow the rules.”
In fact, Google is not the only company that has hidden a message for consumers in its logo.
Airbnb
When Airbnb redesigned its logo in 2014, many reacted, writing on social media that it hides sexual innuendos.
But the company itself has hidden four symbols in the sign: A head (symbolizing people), a location symbol (symbolizing accommodations), a heart (symbolizing love), and the letter A, from Airbnb.
Amazon
At first glance, most people think the arrow in the Amazon logo is a smile. In fact, the company has hidden a bigger message. The arrow starts from A (the first letter of the English alphabet) and ends at Z (the last letter of the alphabet) as it wants to show that Amazon sells everything.
FedEx
The FedEx logo has won over 40 awards and a place among the eight best corporate logos of the past 35 years by Rolling Stone magazine.
And yet, few spot the hidden message at first glance. If you look closely between E and X you will see that the empty space forms an arrow. “The arrow suggests forward motion, speed and precision, and as it is hidden, it has an element of surprise, of discovery,” explained its designer, Lindon Leader.
Adidas
The three stripes on the Adidas logo are no accident. The real reason why they were designed at an angle is because together they form a mountain and symbolize the challenges that the company’s customers have to overcome every day.
Domino’s
When the first Domino’s store opened, the founders of the company did not expect that their chain would become so large. Thus, they intended to add a bullet to the brand domino each time they opened a new store. Apparently, very quickly they were forced to abandon this idea. Domino’s has more than 15,000 stores.
