The new strike follows last week’s strike, which resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of flights.
Pilots at German airline Lufthansa will go on strike again this week, a union said today, escalating their agitation over a pay gap that is expected to prolong the problems of a summer of travel chaos.
The new strike follows last week’s strike, which resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of flights.
The new strike involves pilots of the airline’s passenger and cargo planes, the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) union, which represents more than 5,000 pilots, announced.
Pilots of passenger aircraft will strike on Wednesday and Thursday and those of cargo aircraft from Wednesday to Friday.
The VC is claiming a 5.5% pay rise this year and automatic inflation after that.
