Tourists often take seaplanes between Seattle and the San Juan Islands. The plane that crashed was flying from the beautiful islands on the US-Canada border.

It wasn’t the first time a Navy plane had crashed on the West Coast this year. In July, a small plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean near the popular Huntington Beach pier in California.

The California disaster was much less deadly. Two young rescuers ran to the plane and managed to evacuate the pilot and administer first aid.

Meanwhile, in Europe, there have been reports of a mysterious plane crash in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Latvia, which killed a family member.

A plane crash that occurred on the same day as the Washington plane crash baffled investigators. The NATO jet positioned itself in the plane’s unstable flight path, but no pilot was seen in the cockpit when it overtook it.
