Lufthansa declined to comment on the deal.
Lufthansa pilots will not finally go on strike from tomorrow Wednesday, as a last-minute agreement was reached between the union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) and the airline’s management over the issue of pay rises.
The union had announced a strike for tomorrow and Thursday for passenger aircraft and for Friday for cargo, but “an agreement has been reached” and the strike is being called off, its spokesman said.
Lufthansa declined to comment on the deal.
The VC said the basis of a comprehensive package of wage and structural issues has been agreed, which will be fleshed out in the coming days. He did not give further details but noted that “it is enough” to abort the strike. The union had been asking for 5.5% wage increases retroactive to July 1 as well as an 8.2% increase in 2023 to cover losses due to higher inflation.
