For the first time in UK history, the top four government ministries will not be headed by white men. The historic fact is an initiative of the new British Prime Minister Liz Truss who, upon taking office this Tuesday (6), announced the members of her cabinet.
The positions in question are those of deputy prime minister and ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Interior. And its occupants will be, in that order, Therese Coffey, the first woman to hold the position; Kwasi Kwarteng, son of Ghanaian parents; James Cleverley, whose mother is from Sierra Leone; Suella Braverman, whose parents came from Kenya and Mauritius.
