A superyacht named ‘007’ has sunk dramatically in Greece.

At first glance, this isn’t a scene from the new James Bond movie, it’s just an unfortunate coincidence.

A 49-meter ship crashed near Kythnos Island on Friday night.

Local reports said all five people on board were rescued by the Coast Guard and taken to safety.

A luxury yacht with a helipad was found half submerged about 15 meters from the convoy.

Anti-pollution barriers were installed in case of fuel leaks.

A local boat owner said:

It approached the shore less than ten meters deep, so as not to sink, and thus the ship reached this position. No one was injured.

Greek local authorities plan to conduct a preliminary investigation.

The 007 was delivered in 2006 by the Bodrum-based shipyard Aegean Yachts.

There are 5 cabins, including a master suite, that sleep up to 10 people. Unknown owner.

The Coast Guard said the ship was partially submerged when rescuers arrived at the scene, according to SuperyachtNews.com.

A spokesperson said:

“The port of Kythnos has carried out a preliminary investigation and no contamination of the marine environment has been reported since the incident.”
