Charles made it very clear that Meghan would not be welcome, a source told the British tabloid
Charles reportedly called his son Prince Harry and asked him not to bring Meghan Markle to Balmoral, British newspaper The Sun can reveal today.
According to the report, King Charles III reportedly told Prince Harry not to bring his wife with him to Balmoral Castle as senior members of the royal family rushed to say their final “farewells” to Queen Elizabeth.
Harry and Meghan were already in Britain when his grandmother passed away.
According to the report, while the royal family was in turmoil over Elizabeth’s deteriorating health, Prince Harry and his wife caused embarrassment by announcing they would both travel to Balmoral.
According to the Sun, Prince Harry was at Frogmore Cottage, the couple’s home in Windsor, when his father called him and asked him not to bring Meghan at such a sad time.
“Charles told Harry it was not right or appropriate for Meghan to be at Balmoral at such a deeply sad time,” a source told the newspaper.
“It was pointed out to him that Kate would not be going and that only the closest family members should be present. Charles made it very clear that Meghan would not be welcome.”
Harry, who has fallen out of favor, also did not board the RAF plane that took his brother Prince William and uncles Prince Edward and Prince Andrew to Scotland.
