In the Izium, the strategically important city in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine, went today Wednesday o Volodymyr Zelensky. It is the first visit by the Ukrainian president to the areas recaptured by the Ukrainian army from the Russians during their counter-offensive this month.
Zelensky participated in the ceremony of raising the Ukrainian flag and sent a message that the liberation of Izium is only the beginning.
“In the past, when we looked up, we always looked for the blue sky. Today, when we look up, we look for only one thing – the flag of Ukraine. Our blue and yellow flag is already flying in liberated Izium. And it will be like that in every city and village of Ukraine. We move in only one direction – forward and towards victory” Zelensky wrote on his Telegram account, in which he also posted photos of himself with military personnel in the city.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hana Maliar.
