Canada’s weather service has multiplied its warnings to citizens about this bad weather that is described as “historic” and has already sowed death and destruction in the Caribbean.
More than 500,000 households have been left without power on Canada’s Atlantic coast, which is being hit by Cyclone Fiona, according to figures released by utilities.

In the province of Nova Scotia alone, operator Nova Scotia Power reported that 414,163 customers were without power.
