“Absolutely unacceptable” Russia’s threats of possible use of nuclear weapons, says Kouleba

by

“Ukraine will not back down. We call on the nuclear powers to speak now, to make it clear to Russia that such rhetoric puts the world at risk and will not be tolerated,” Mr Kuleba said via Twitter.

The Kremlin’s statements about the possible use of nuclear weapons are “absolutely unacceptable” and Kyiv will not be intimidated by them, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said early today.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and other officials, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, have referred to the option of using nuclear weapons in extremis.

“Putin and Lavrov’s irresponsible statements about the possible use of nuclear weapons are absolutely unacceptable,” Mr Kuleba said via Twitter. “Ukraine will not back down. We call on the nuclear powers to speak up now, to make it clear to Russia that such rhetoric puts the world at risk and will not be tolerated.”
