London: Thanasis Gavos
The resignation of the British Prime Minister’s advisor for the COP26 climate conference was announced by Allegra Stratton, who until then a spokesperson appears in a video from last December laughing while discussing with colleagues the alleged illegal party in Downing Street due to pandemic.
Ms Stratton read a weeping resignation statement in front of the cameras outside her home.
As he said, he made the decision because he does not want to distract from the battle and the huge sacrifices of the British against COVID-19.
“My words seemed to mock the rules, rules that people do everything to abide by. That was never my intention. I will regret these words for the rest of my days and offer deep apologies for them to all of you. “To all of you who have lost loved ones, endured unbearable loneliness and fought with your businesses, I am truly sorry and this afternoon they are submitting my resignation to the Prime Minister,” said the former BBC and ITV journalist.

Stratton’s resignation comes hours after a spokesman for Boris Johnson expressed confidence in her.
Reactions to the party and denials by the government continue, even from within the Conservative Party. The leader of the Tories in Scotland, Douglas Ross, said he believed the party had taken place, was “unforgivable” and called on the government to explain what had happened.
Asked if there was a question of Boris Johnson’s resignation, Mr Ross said that if the Prime Minister knew and lied knowingly, then that would be a very serious accusation of misleading parliament. “One can not remain in the highest office of the country if he has done so,” Ross added.
