“One of the possible defendants is the well-known actor Alec Baldwin”
The actor Alec Baldwin may face criminal charges in the fatal injury of Halina Hutchins on the set of “Rust,” according to Santa Fe County District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies.
During the New Mexico Economic Council meeting held on September 20, the district attorney requested and received emergency funding to continue the investigation into the tragedy that occurred on October 21. According to a video of the meeting seen by People, the district attorney said that “we are waiting maybe a few days before we get the final report from the sheriff’s office” and that “one to four people may face criminal charges.” In a letter to The New Mexico Economic Council, published by Deadline, reports that: “one of the possible defendants is well-known actor Alec Baldwin,” adding that there could be four separate criminal trials’.
However, the actor’s lawyer Luke Nikas states through PEOPLE magazine that “the prosecutor has made it clear that she has not received the sheriff’s report nor has she made any decisions… She must be given time to consider the matter without baseless speculation and innuendo.”
