Riot in Spain: Dozens of students went out their windows and cursed girls – Watch video

by

The incredible incident was even mentioned by the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez: “Enough with the machismo,” he commented

A video he made around the internet and shows the residents of a Madrid student residence to abuse and threaten female students of another outbreak, right across the street, scandalizes Spain today, provoking the reaction of even the prime minister.

In the 30-second video, a male voice can be clearly heard to curse and threaten, in the middle of the night, with unspoken phrases. The young man then shouts “Embros Aouha” (s.s. from the name of the Elias Aouha student residence) and, with perfect timing, dozens of windows of the building open, many human figures appear in each opening and begin to they howl like animals.

The footage was filmed from the all-girls dormitory, Major Santa Monica College, located across the street. After the video was released on social networking sites, the Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez reacted strongly. “We cannot tolerate such behavior that incites hatred and insults women (…) Enough with the machismo,” he wrote on Twitter. When asked about the issue, from Prague where he is participating in the European Political Community summit, Sanchez “appealed to all political parties and the media (…) to give a common response (…) rejecting this macho, inexplicable, unwarranted and absolutely disgusting behavior.”

“Sexual education courses, that’s what the students of this center need”, commented the Minister of Equality Irene Montero, denouncing “the culture of rape and sexual terror, which turns women into sexual objects”.

The management of Major Elias Aouha College condemned “the unacceptable expressions” of a group of students and publicly apologized to the students of the Santa Monica hostel. He then announced that many of the students involved had been expelled from the hostel.

This student residence has been operating since 1969 on the grounds of the prestigious Complutense University of Madrid. The room costs about 1,100 euros per month. The former leader of the opposition People’s Party, Pablo Casado, also lived there during his studies.
