“It remains to be seen,” the US president told reporters when asked about the possibility of having direct talks with the Russian president

The possibility of a meeting with his Russian counterpart is open Vladimir Putin during the G20 summit in November in Bali, Indonesia, the US president left, Joe Biden.

“It remains to be seen,” he told reporters when asked about the possibility of speaking directly with the Russian president on the sidelines of the summit.

If Kremlin strongman Vladimir Putin is confirmed to attend the Bali summit, the US believes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should also attend, even though his country is not a member of the G20.

Joe Biden also emphasized that he will “definitely” have a meeting with Xi Jinping, if the Chinese president eventually travels to Bali for the summit.

So far, it is not certain that Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will attend the G20 summit in November. The invasion of Ukraine has isolated Russia on the international stage, while China’s president has curtailed foreign travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In August, Indonesian President Joko Widodo said in an interview with Bloomberg that his Russian and Chinese counterparts would attend the summit.
