Nordic Monitor: Turkish agents will “set up” a military incident with Greece

by

Erdogan will send intelligence units to Greece to “put together a military-style covert operation against a Western country” for the first time.

The Turkish president, who in recent months has repeatedly threatened to invade the Greek islands, plans to deploy a secret, specially trained unit linked to MIT intelligence to escalate tensions with Greece, Nordic reports today. Monitor.

The MIT agent unit, the existence of which has never been publicly acknowledged, is a relatively new tool in the arsenal of Turkey’s intelligence service and “will be used for the first time in setting up a military-style covert operation against a Western country.”

According to the publication, the Turkish plan includes several options. From sabotage on Greek islands close to the Turkish mainland to raising a Turkish flag on one or more uninhabited rocky islets, as well as a “false flag” operation to justify a Turkish response.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is still considering the alternatives presented to him by his confidant, MIT head Hakan Fidan, and has not yet decided what course of action he wants to take.
