“Many burial sites have been discovered in the liberated cities of Sviatogirsk and Liman,” Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office said

The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine announced today Tuesday that the bodies of 78 civilians have been exhumed in two towns in the Donetsk region, in the eastern part of the country, recently recaptured by Ukrainian forces.

“Many burial sites have been discovered in the liberated cities Sviatogirsk and Liman“, he said, reporting that 34 bodies were exhumed in Sviatogirsk and 44 in Liman.

According to this source, some bodies exhumed in Sviatogirsk showed signs of “violent death” and the charred remains of two people were found in a car.

In Liman, about 110 graves were counted from which 44 bodies were immediately exhumed, including those of “a one-year-old child and his entire family.”

Ukraine blames Russian forces for numerous atrocities, discovering during the Russian retreats graves of civilians killed or victims of torture or extrajudicial executions. Russia consistently denies these accusations.
