Bets on whether Harry, Meghan will attend Charles’ coronation on May 6

by

Many argue that the date – May 6 – was deliberately chosen to prevent the couple from attending the historic event.

On May 6, Westminster Abbey (where else?) will see the coronation of England’s King Charles – the country’s first royal coronation in 86 years, since the coronation of Elizabeth’s father and grandfather, King George VI.

According to the royal family’s official social media account, The Royal Family, “His Majesty the King will be crowned in a ceremony to take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey. At the ceremony, King Charles III will be crowned at the side of the royal wife.”

Buckingham’s announcement of the date chosen has sparked intense debate over whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend as the coronation coincides with the birthday of the Sussexes’ firstborn son Archie.

According to an exclusive publication of ET, the royal wife Camilla “really wants” to attend the coronation ceremony.

According to ET writer and royal expert Katie Nicholl, the date was not “deliberately” chosen to prevent the couple from attending.

“It will be a decision for Harry and Meghan to make,” Nicole said.

Many are reminded that Harry is Charles’ son and despite any family differences he could not be absent from his father’s side at this historic moment – his absence would damage the prestige and reputation of the institution.

Charles will be crowned king 69 years after his mother was crowned queen (2/6/1953) and, at the same time, he will become the oldest person in age to be crowned king in all of British history.
