30-year-old Iranian actress Elnaaz Norouzi sent her own message against the oppression of women by the Iranian regime by taking off her clothes in front of the camera and going topless.

As protests continue in Iran following the death of 22-year-old Mahsha Amini, the Iranian actress, star of the Netflix series Sacred Games, has decided to join the protests in her own original way. Initially in the video she is seen standing dressed in black loose clothing and a headscarf, an ensemble that leaves only her arms, eyes and legs exposed.

The star then begins to take off her clothes one by one while also untying her hair and letting it loose, discarding the hijab as a sign of defiance against the state’s authoritarian laws on women.

Underneath her robe she wears a dress, jeans, shirt, skirt and crop top, which she then also takes off and is left in her underwear. Until she takes off her bra and covers her breasts with her hands.

Norouzi captioned it on Instagram: “I’m not promoting nudity, I’m promoting freedom of choice! Every woman, anywhere in the world, no matter where she comes from, should have the right to wear whatever she wants, whenever or wherever she wants to.” he wears it. No man or other woman has the right to judge her or ask her to dress differently. Everyone has different opinions and beliefs and they should be respected. Democracy means power to decide… Every Woman should have the power to decide about her body!”

Norouzi previously worked as an international model for luxury brands including Dior and Lacoste and now works in India and Germany.

The 30-year-old spoke to India Today about the harsh reality experienced by her compatriots in Iran. “Women have been oppressed for over 40 years. I was born in Tehran and I have experienced it. I was forced to wear a hijab from a young age. I too was stopped by the Ethon Police two years ago, when I was in Tehran, and they took me for “retraining”, as they call it, where they also took Makhsa, who was going to be beaten. It’s a scary place to live. You don’t want to live like this. You don’t want to leave home and not know if you’ll ever come back. It’s sad. We just don’t want our women, our people to live like this. Everywhere in the world, women should be allowed to make their own decisions. It should be acceptable whether they want to cover their hair or not. It should be a woman’s decision for herself. This is what the people of Iran hope for.”

It is recalled that artists from all over the world show their solidarity with Iranian women by cutting their hair.
