According to the UK Ministry of Defense the average amount of personal equipment provided by Russia to its reservists was “certainly lower than the already poor supply of previously deployed troops”.

Their own equipment to protect themselves from the many Russian reservists who have been called up to fight in the Ukraine according to British intelligence, with prices skyrocketing.

The UK Ministry of Defence he also said in his daily briefing that widespread corruption and poor logistics were a key cause of Russia’s “poor performance” in the war.

The ministry said the average amount of personal equipment provided by Russia to its reservists was “definitely lower than the already poor supply of previously deployed troops”.

“Many reservists are likely to be required to purchase their own armour, especially the modern 6B45 vest, which is intended to be general issue to combat units as part of the Ratnik personal equipment programme,” the British Ministry of Defense tweeted.

The ministry said the vest was being sold on Russian online shopping sites for 40,000 rubles (about US$640 or £570), up from about 12,000 rubles last April.

In 2020 Russian authorities said that 300,000 sets of Ratnik armor had been delivered to their military – “enough to equip the force currently deployed in Ukraine”.
