French police found, on Friday night (14), a 12-year-old girl dead inside a plastic trunk in Paris. According to the AFP news agency, the victim’s body was covered in fabric and drawings, and her head was nearly severed.
As of Saturday morning (15), four people had been arrested on suspicion of participating in the girl’s murder, but the causes and circumstances of death are still uncertain.
The trunk with the body was initially found by a homeless man around 23:00 (18:00 GMT) inside the courtyard of a ten-story building in the 19th arrondissement of Paris – a residential neighborhood in the French capital. The apartment where the girl lived is in the same building.
The girl’s disappearance had already been reported to the police hours earlier, when her parents suspected the delay for her to get home from school. On Facebook, the victim’s mother posted a description of her daughter and the clothes she was wearing when she left home early on Friday afternoon.
According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, two records accompany the publication: the first would be a photo of the teenager smiling and the second a video of her entering the building. The scene recorded by security cameras shows that the girl arrived at the building alive.
A neighbor who watched the records with the girl’s father told the French newspaper that the girl arrived at the building accompanied by a woman in her early twenties. “Lola [nome da vítima] she didn’t seem at all reassured. We understand that this was not normal,” she reported.
According to the newspaper Le Parisien, a resident of the region told police that a young woman asked him for help to put a large trunk inside a Dacia Lodgy, a Renault vehicle. The car, by the way, would have been fundamental to the discovery of the suspects in the case. That’s because the police retraced the route of the car and located the woman in the commune of Bois-Colombes, in the north of Paris. In addition to her, three other people were arrested near the scene.
According to the prosecution, the suspects have not yet confessed to the murder. An autopsy of the body must be performed during the day to discover the causes of death.
