Nominations can be submitted until 2pm on Monday – No later than Friday 28 October the result
London, Thanasis Gavos
At 100 it was determined by the Conservative Party the minimum number of MPs who will have to declare their support for a candidate successor her Liz Truss to be included in the succession race.
This means that with a total of 357 MPs in the Tory caucus, there will be no more than three candidates.
As announced by the head of the relevant 1922 Committee, Sir Graham Brady, and the chairman of the Conservative Party, Jake Berry, nominations can be submitted until 2pm on Monday.
If there are three candidates, the party’s MPs will vote for the final pair, which will be put to the judgment of the party’s base, after a pre-election debate between them. This time member voting will be online only.
If only one candidate emerges, there will be no voting and he will be crowned leader of the party and the country.
The result will be announced no later than Friday, October 28.
