One motion of censure has been submitted by Marine Le Pen’s far-right party, while two other motions of censure have been submitted by the left-wing opposition
Faced with three motions of censurenone of which is expected to be outvoted, the French government will meet today on the occasion of the decision taken last week by Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne to approve the 2013 state budget, not through the parliamentary process, as is customary, but on the basis of article 49.3 of the French Constitution which gives the government the right to bypass, under conditions, the National Assembly.
The French prime minister took this decision after finding last week that it was not possible to gather a parliamentary majority to approve next year’s budget. One motion of censure has been submitted by Marine Le Pen’s far-right party, while two other motions of censure have been submitted by the left-wing opposition.
However, Marine Le Pen has made it clear that she does not intend to vote for the proposals of the left, while the parties of the left have made it clear that they do not intend to vote for the censure motion of the extreme right. Anyway, it’s the first time French government will be faced on the same day with three motions of censure against it.
