Energy and economic issues dominated the working lunch they had today in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron with the German chancellor Olaf Solz.
As reported by diplomatic circles of the Champs-Élysées palace, the two leaders focused on the initiatives that their countries should undertake with the aim of developing the industrial sector in Europe and weaning it off coal. As for energy issues they confirmed the principle of solidarity between France and Germany and their determination to meet the commitments they have made in relation to limiting gas emissions.
It was also discussed the question of strengthening the Defense of Europe in the direction adopted by the Versailles summit which took place in February. Finally, the question of the reconstruction of Ukraine was discussed but and the issue of relations with China in view of the transition of the German chancellor to Beijing.
