The… “spare” Prince Harry – This is how his memoirs will be titled

The title is possibly a reference to the nickname given to Harry and his older brother, Prince William, who is second in line to the throne

The publication date and title of his memoir prince harry confirmed by Penguin Random House. The publishers said the British prince’s memoir will be titled “Spare” and have set a January 10th release date.

The title is probably a reference to the nickname given to Harry and his older brother, Prince William, who is second in line to the throne: “The Heir and the Spare”. Rumors about the memoir – and exactly what it might contain – have been circulating for a year, since the deal was first announced in July 2021.

At the time, Prince Harry said in a statement through the editor (as reported by the New York Times): “I write this not as the prince I was born but as the man I became. I’ve worn many hats over the years, literally and figuratively, and I hope that by telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than what we think”.

Press reports at the time claimed the prince received an advance of around $20 million, although the publishing house declined to confirm the figure. “Spare” was originally scheduled to be published in 2022, but after the death of Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, he was asked to redact some passages.
