Canadair CL-415 crashed into Mount Etna today while fighting a fire when its fuselage slammed into the mountainside, as shown in shocking footage released of the crash.
So far both pilots are missing.

Search and rescue teams are currently working in the area, according to a note from the Civil Protection of Sicily.
“My teams saw it crash and then, smoke. The plane is completely destroyed,” said the director of the Civil Protection of Sicily, Cocsina.

The plane was tasked with extinguishing a fire on Mount Calcinera, south of Linguaglossa.
