The government of Iran accuses that of Germany and personally the Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Berbock of actively supporting the anti-government demonstrations.

Iranian diplomacy has summoned Germany’s ambassador, Hans-Udo Mützel, to protest what it calls Berlin’s interference in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic, due to its support for the ongoing protests sparked by the death of a 22-year-old woman at the hands of morality police. the state news agency IRNA reported yesterday Thursday.

The government of Iran accuses that of Germany and personally the Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Berbock of actively supporting the anti-government demonstrations.

“Some European countries, despite all their commitments at the international level to fight terrorism, have turned into sponsors of terrorist organizations,” Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Khani complained, according to the semi-official FARS news agency.

The development came a day after Ms Burbok announced new punitive measures against Tehran over its bloody crackdown on protests in Iran.

The measures include travel restrictions on Iranian officials and restrictions on transactions with Iranian banks.

The German Foreign Ministry, confirming that Mr. Mützel was summoned, announced at the same time that it had in turn summoned the Iranian ambassador to serve him a protest.
