Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club forum, the Russian president explained that he has no reason, neither political nor military, to use nukes and attacked the West because – as he pointed out – it tries to impose its own conditions on other countries by playing a “dangerous, bloody and dirty” game of imposition. As she explained, even supporting Ukraine is part of her efforts to impose what she calls a “rules-based international order” on others.

However, arguing that the era of Western dominance is coming to an end, he spoke of the most dangerous decade since the Second World War.

For him “humanity is now faced with a choice: to accumulate many problems which will inevitably tear us all apart or to try to find solutions which may not be ideal but which work and make the world more stable and safe ».

Later in his speech, Vladimir Putin said that Russia was not an enemy of the West, but made it clear that he could not accept efforts by the United States, the European Union and Britain to contain Moscow.

In fact, he emphasized that Russia will never accept Western countries telling it what to do, noting that the longer it takes the West to realize this, the higher the price will be. “Their goal is to make Russia more vulnerable and turn it into an instrument that will fulfill their geopolitical goals. They have failed to achieve this and will never succeed,” he clarified.

Vladimir Putin with his speech seems to be addressed exclusively to the West. He accuses her of wanting to destroy Russia with proof of her support for Ukraine. Support he explains can lead to further escalation of the war even leading to direct conflict.

For Vladimir Putin, Russia is not to blame. On the contrary, it is wrongly accused and he himself has no reason to regret what Moscow calls a “special military operation”. And for this reason, analysts commenting on the speech chose to title it the “parallel universe of the Russian president”.

They note that the occupant of the Kremlin may say that the time for decisions has come but he seems to be threatening since at the same time he is warning of the most dangerous decade since the Second World War, even talking about dangers for the future of humanity.

So they answer that “no”, the Russian president has not regretted his actions. He may be calling for decisions that will make the world, he said, a safe place again but the Russian president doesn’t seem to be putting water in his wine.

The West for Putin is an enemy since Russia first tried to be “friends” with it, as he put it, but the US, EU and NATO only wanted to play by his own rules. For him above all – even the human lives lost of which he spoke – the protection and security of Russia must come out victorious.

All this while Moscow has steadily in recent weeks further escalated its rhetoric accusing Kiev of preparing to use a “dirty bomb” in Ukraine with the West still demanding proof.
