France rejects Russian accusations Britain was involved in gas pipeline attacks Nord Stream and Russian warships in Crimea.

The Russian accusations are baseless, the French Foreign Ministry said today, noting that they “are part of Moscow’s strategy to divert attention from its sole responsibility in the war of aggression it is waging against Ukraine.”

Yesterday, the Russian Defense Ministry – without presenting any evidence for its claims – claimed that “representatives” of a unit of Britain’s Royal Navy blew up the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea.

“According to the available information, representatives of this unit of the British (Royal) Navy participated in the planning, preparation and implementation of a terrorist attack in the Baltic Sea on September 26 this year, blowing up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines,” stated in the announcement.
