The program of the royal couple of the Netherlands in Athens will begin on Monday, October 31, with the laying of a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier
This evening, at around 22:45, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will welcome at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport the Dutch King William-Alexander and Queen Maximawho will visit Greece from today until November 2, following the invitation of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The program of the royal couple of the Netherlands in Athens will start on Monday 31 October with the laying of a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier and then they will move at 09:35 to the Presidential Palace, where the official Reception Ceremony will take place, as well as the Ceremony medal ceremony of the King and Queen of the Netherlands and the President of the Republic.
Subsequently, at 09:45 the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Mr. Pavlos Kotsonis will have a private meeting with King William-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.
Then, at 10:30, the royal couple will have a meeting with the Ombudsman of Greece and the Netherlands at the Dutch Institute of Athens and at 13:30 they will visit the Archaeological site of the Acropolis.
At 15:00 they will meet with the Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, in Technopolis, followed by a reception for the Dutch community.
In the evening at 20:00 the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will host an official Dinner at the Presidential Palace in honor of the King and Queen of the Netherlands.
The second day of the official visit includes at 09:35 the participation of the King and Queen of the Netherlands, together with the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, in the round table discussion on violence against women, in the foyer of the National Library of Greece in the Center Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation.
Immediately after at 11:00 they will attend the 14th innovation and start-up entrepreneurship competition “The Squeeze” at the Lighthouse of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
At 12:25 p.m. the royal couple of the Netherlands is scheduled to visit the “Elpida” Children’s Oncology Unit and at 3:00 p.m. a school unit and facilities for accommodating minors.
At 20:00 the Reciprocal event of the King and Queen of the Netherlands in honor of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will take place at the Concert Hall.
On Wednesday, November 2, King William-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands will travel from Athens to Thessaloniki to continue and complete their official visit to our country.
