Majority of Germans believe that Chancellor Olaf Scholz is not up to the challenges of his position
The majority of Germans believe that the chancellor Olaf Solz he is unable to meet the responsibilities of his position.
Criticism is also expressed for the government’s recent decisions regarding China’s entry into German businesses.
According to a poll by the Insa Institute on behalf of the BILD newspaper, 55% of respondents believe that Mr. Scholz is unable to deal with the current challenges, while only 37% express confidence in the chancellor’s abilities.
In the same vein, on the question of a direct election, only 27% would choose Mr Scholz as chancellor again, 15% Christian Democratic Party (CDU) leader Friedrich Merz, while 49% would choose neither .

On the occasion of the recent approval of the participation of the Chinese Cosco in the port of Hamburg, 34% of respondents are against the entry of Chinese companies into Germany, 39% believe that stricter conditions and restrictions are needed and only 17% believe that there is no need either impose additional restrictions nor ban Chinese investment.
