USA: Night of horror on Halloween – Shootings with 1 dead and dozens injured in Chicago and Kansas

by

In Chicago, 13 people, including two children and a teenager, were injured in a drive-by shooting, but there were no immediate reports of deaths, Chicago police said.

A real night of horror was experienced on Halloween by dozens of American citizens in two different incidents in Kansas and Chicago in the USA, with one dead and dozens injured.

Between five and seven people were shot and one person was killed in a shooting incident at a home in Kansas Cityy, where about 70 to 100 teenagers were partying Monday night, local police Chief Carl Oakman said.

Some people, unknown to the homeowners, started shooting when they were told to leave the house, Oakman told reporters.

In the Chicago, 13 people, including two children and a teenager, were injured in a drive-by shooting, but there were no immediate reports of deaths, Chicago police said. Seven of the injured, including three minors, are either in serious or critical condition.

Two attackers in a dark SUV opened fire on a group of people standing at an intersection, according to police.

Thirteen people were injured in the shooting, while one was hit by the vehicle, police said, correcting a later statement that said up to 14 people were injured.

Police have not identified the attackers and have no information on their movements, Chicago Police Chief David Brown said at a press conference.

These two attacks follow a series of attacks this year at schools in the US in which dozens of people were killed and injured, fueling the debate about the need for gun control in the country. One of the deadliest attacks this year occurred in May when a gunman killed 19 children and two adults in Uvalde, Texas.
