The Russian occupation authorities have assured that no curfew will be imposed on Khersonin southern Ukraine.

A few minutes earlier, however, the Moscow-appointed deputy governor of the province announced in a Telegram post that there would be a 24-hour curfew, citing a possible attack by Ukrainian forces.

THE Kirill Stremusov he then took down that first video and replaced it with another one where there was no mention of a curfew. No explanation was given for the editing.

The lieutenant governor posted a new video assuring that “there is no restriction” on the city’s residents, despite the promotion of Ukrainians in the area. But he urged citizens to leave the city, saying he expected “provocations” and “terrorist actions” from the Ukrainian army.

“At some points, phalanxes of enemy forces were seen. It is possible that they are preparing for an attack against the city of Kherson,” he estimated. Earlier in the week Stremusov pledged that the Russian army would defend the city “as if it were a fortress”.
