Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that the Franco-German plan for the final settlement of the Kosovo issue cannot be accepted by Belgrade.
It is noted that the Franco-German plan for the final solution of the Kosovo issue is based on the model of the two Germanys in 1972, when the two countries both became members of the UN without mutual recognition.
Under this plan, Serbia is asked to allow Kosovo’s membership in the UN and other international organizations in exchange for the acceleration of the European integration process and economic benefits.
“This plan was rejected the day before yesterday, during the meeting of the National Security Council. It doesn’t even give us the opportunity to discuss, since it starts from the premise that Kosovo is an independent state, which we cannot accept,” Ivica Dacic told the Vecernje Novosti newspaper.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia estimated that the final solution for Kosovo will not be ideal for either Belgrade or Pristina, however “the Serbian leadership must ensure that important national interests will be respected through the dialogue”.
