A large-scale operation by air force near Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria was carried out by the US military in the early hours of the morning, the Syrian state news agency SANA reported.
The U.S. military says a car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Deir ez-Zor.
The information has not been confirmed by independent sources.
From Washington, the Pentagon reported that US-led coalition forces had carried out an operation, along with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in Busheira. Four Islamic State fighters were killed, including one wearing an explosives belt, but no arrests were made.
The Pentagon clarified that a separate operation was carried out, only by the SDF, but did not say whether this coalition arrested civilians.
Deir ez-Zor province, on the border with Iraq, is a strategically important route for supplying Iranian-backed paramilitary groups that regularly send aid to Syria to support President Bashar al-Assad.
US forces have deployed to a base in the al-Tanf area, south of Deir ez-Zor, as part of an ongoing, albeit limited, combat operation against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.
