Head of PEGA: This is not the final monitoring report but a first draft

“Only the final report and recommendations, as they will have been adopted at the end of our period of activity, represent the position of the European Parliament as a whole,” emphasized the head of the commission Jéron Lennars

The PEGA rapporteur presented a first draft of the report on the monitoring reports the head of the committee Jeroen Lennars, stressing that “it is not a final version and cannot – at this point – be understood as the conclusions or the position of the PEGA committee as a whole ».

“All PEGA committee members will have the opportunity to submit amendments to the draft report. Only the final report and recommendations, as they will have been adopted at the end of our period of activity, represent the position of the European Parliament as a whole” Mr. Lenars points out in his written statement.

He explains that due to the many questions he received about the press conference of the rapporteur Sophie In ‘t Veldt he is making clarifications “to avoid any confusion about the Commission’s procedures” PEGA.

“Discussions on the findings of our Commission should take place during the (Commission’s) meetings, where all political groups can present their views on all relevant aspects of our work” concludes the head of PEGA.
