Four dead in a traffic accident in Pakistan

Road accidents are a frequent occurrence in Pakistan and are usually attributed to violations of the traffic code and the poor maintenance of the country’s road network.

At least four people died and two others were injured in a road accident that took place in Balochistan province of southwestern Pakistan on Saturday.

A truck rammed a passenger car, killing its four occupants and injuring two bystanders, on the outskirts of Quetta. The injured were taken to a hospital and, according to information, are hospitalized in a critical condition.

Road accidents are a frequent occurrence in Pakistan and are usually attributed to violations of the traffic code and the poor maintenance of the country’s road network.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration points out that Pakistan is among the Asian countries with the most traffic accidents every year. 67% of these are attributed to human error, 28% to the poor condition of the road network and only 5% to insufficient vehicle maintenance, according to the same source.
