Archbishop of America Elpidophoros: The Hellenic Fire Victims Relief Fund supports the victims of North Evia for one year

In total, the Archdiocese of America has so far provided financial assistance to 1,725 ​​victims of the devastating fires in North Evia.

It has raised more than $1.1 million since its inception in August 2021 to date. Relief Fund for Greek Fire Victims of the Archdiocese of America, which have already been used to relieve individuals and to support businesses and health care units affected by the devastating fires in North Evia last summer.

In total, the Archdiocese of America has to date provided financial assistance to 1,725 ​​beneficiaries in the region, in close cooperation with the International Orthodox Christian Charitable Organizations (IOCC), both in terms of assessing the needs of those affected and in terms of effective planning of the immediate and of their long-term strengthening.

As stated by Archbishop of America Elpidophorosthrough systematic philanthropic efforts and thanks to the generosity of the faithful children of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, we managed to gather significant resources, in order to quickly and effectively help our compatriots who suffered a severe blow and were in great need.

The Archbishop hopeful also expressed his thanks to Bishop Midea Apostolos and the members of the delegation, the treasurer of the Archbishop’s Council, Elaine Allen, and the first vice-president of the National Philanthropy Fund, Annita Kartalopoulos, who visited North Evia last year to see first-hand the damage caused by the fires and to update the recording and prioritization of the needs of those affected, as well as the IOCC’s plan for the allocation of funds.
