Two people died in the explosion that rocked today the village of Przewodow in eastern Poland, a short distance from the Ukrainian border.

The US Department of Defense announced that it was unable to confirm reports that Russian missiles had landed on Polish soil near the border with Ukraine.

“We are aware of press reports that two Russian missiles hit a site in Poland near the border with Ukraine. I can tell you that at this time we do not have any information to corroborate these reports and we are looking into the matter further,” said Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder.

Two people died in the explosion that rocked today the village of Przewodow in eastern Poland, a short distance from the Ukrainian border.

Polish radio station ZET had earlier attributed the explosion to “stray” missiles, in the wake of Russia’s heavy missile attacks in various parts of Ukraine today.

The Associated Press agency also reported information from a US intelligence official – whom it did not name – that the explosion in Poland was caused by Russian missiles.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called an emergency cabinet meeting.
