“I feel lucky, I’ve always been lucky in my life and surely God protected me” said the 39-year-old
Shortly before 9 pm, the 39-year-old Greek woman who was injured last Sunday in the explosion that occurred on Istiklal Avenue in Istanbul arrived by Turkish ambulance at the Papageorgiou hospital. She was greeted at the hospital by her parents, who earlier told reporters that there was a communication difficulty as they could only communicate in Turkish.
“I feel lucky, I’ve always been lucky in my life and God certainly protected me,” said the 39-year-old, who stated that she would go to Istanbul again and added: “I’ve learned in my life in general to overcome difficult situations very easily. It will definitely take some time but for now I’m thinking about getting well, relaxing because these two days have been very stressful from Turkey, doctors, interviews.”
Answering questions from journalists, she said that the Turkish authorities asked her various questions, to which she answered by saying exactly how things happened. “There were very serious incidents, I have nothing, but I am very sorry for the people, babies and children who died,” he noted.
The 39-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital where she will undergo medical tests and, if necessary, undergo surgery on her leg, which was injured by the explosion.
