The ambassador of the Russian Federation was summoned to be asked for “detailed explanations”.
Poland’s foreign ministry confirmed overnight on Tuesday that a “Russian-made missile” struck the NATO member state’s territory, killing two people.
“At 3:40 p.m. (local time; at 4:40 p.m. Greek time) in the village of Sevodov (…) a Russian-made missile fell, killing two citizens of the Republic of Poland,” the press release published by the Lukacs Yasina, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is added that the ambassador of the Russian Federation was summoned to be asked for “detailed explanations”.
Shortly afterwards, the Polish president, Andrzej Duda, said that Warsaw still did not have “unshakable proof” of who fired the missile.
“Right now, we have no hard evidence as to who fired this missile. An investigation is underway,” the head of state told reporters in Warsaw.
