“We are looking forward to his visit to Moscow,” the Russian president’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said during a press briefing.
The Ria Novosti agency had earlier cited a statement by the Cuban ambassador that the meeting between Diaz-Canel and Putin has been scheduled.
“Contacts between the two leaders have been prepared. This will be a very interesting visit. Cuba is an important partner, there are many issues to discuss,” Peskov said.
During the visit, a monument dedicated to Cuba’s last revolutionary leader will be unveiled in Moscow Fidel Castro.
