José de Abreu sues Cássia Kis for homophobia

Actor José de Abreu is currently filing three lawsuits against actress Cássia Kis for homophobia, according to the Notícias da TV website. According to the publication, Abreu, who has a trans daughter, accuses Globo’s colleague of committing “a crime against society”. None of them responded to requests.

The actions were motivated by Cássia’s discriminatory speeches in a live with Leda Nagle. On the occasion, when she addressed faith, the actress gave a controversial opinion about homosexuality.

“Man and woman no longer exist, but woman with woman and man with man. This gender ideology that is already in schools. I get unbelievable images of 6, 7 year olds kissing. Two girls inside one school kissing, where there is a space called kissing field,” she said without presenting any evidence.

“What’s behind this? Destroying the family. Destroying human life. Because as far as I know, a man with a man does not produce children and a woman with a woman does not produce children either. How are we going to do it?”, he asked.

José de Abreu, a Lula (PT) voter, filed a joint action against Cássia, a Bolsonaro (PL) voter, with psychologist Paula Dalaio and institutions such as Antra (National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals), Grupo de Advogados pela Diversidade Sexual e of Gender and ABGLT (Brazilian Association of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites, Transsexuals and Intersex).

Through social networks, the actor retweeted all the reports on the subject. To a follower who stated that he could not understand Cássia’s opinion, he fired: “Crime, asshole, homophobia is a crime. Opinion is calling you an asshole.”
