Gracing Dubai’s Jumeirah Palm Island, Atlantis The Royal Hotel has been completed and is now the city’s new iconic landmark. Designed by the architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), it is just down the coast from its sister project, the famous Atlantis resort, The Palm.
It includes a luxury hotel, 17 restaurants and bars with celebrity chefs and bartenders, a 22nd floor pool with unobstructed views and the world’s largest jellyfish aquarium.
Despite the completion of the architecture, the hotel is expected to start receiving guests in 2023. Reservations in one of its 795 rooms are already possible.
KPF Architects designed Atlantis The Royal as a curving stack of massive blocks that evokes a monumental brick wall.
As a whole, these stacks form six interconnected towers with an impressive elevated bridge on the 22nd floor, where a swimming pool with an unobstructed view stretches for 90 meters, along with an “entertainment experience” called Club 22. There is a swim-up bar – with in-pool stools – a DJ space under an arch and a row of VIPs
