The energy crisis is driving Germans to generate their own electricity

The Germans are turning to the installation of electricity units on their balconies and the installation of micro wind energy plants

Many Germans are turning to their own energy production due to the energy crisis. The installation of electric power units and the placement of micro wind power plants are some of the solutions followed by German citizens in order to save energy and at the same time money.

“You try to save something and the money that is saved simply stays in the bill, so it can be saved for a solar system like this,” says Jürgen Loos, who recently installed solar panels on his balcony.

As he reveals related report by DW – Greekthe demand for micro wind turbines is constantly increasing.

“Right now we have a benefit of about 3,500 kilowatt hours that we can power the house. At a price of about 50 cents per kilowatt hour. In other words, 1,750 euros. In terms of money, we are self-sufficient for this system,” says Thomas Bremer, wind turbine owner.

However, according to the report, major energy suppliers are already seeing their profits fall because of this and are advising their customers not to install small power plants. In addition there are various bureaucratic problems but the federal government is trying to eliminate some of them.
