Pilot hangs out of cockpit window to grab passenger’s cell phone – Watch video

A Southwest Airlines passenger left his phone at the gate at Long Beach International Airport, but luckily a passenger on another flight found it and alerted staff

An abstract passenger forgot his cell phone at the airport just before boarding his Southwest Airlines flight. And while it seemed that he was doomed to travel without a mobile phone as the plane was ready for takeoff, the company proved that it does everything to serve its customers, even the most careless ones.

In particular, a Southwest Airlines passenger forgot his phone at the gate of Long Beach International Airport, having boarded the plane normally. Luckily for him a passenger on another flight spotted it and informed the staff. But boarding was complete and the aircraft had closed its doors.

However, ground staff acted quickly to ensure the phone was returned to its owner. In a video shared by the airline a few days ago, the plane’s pilot can be seen hanging out of the cockpit window in an attempt to get a phone call from workers below.

“The pilot immediately suggested that ground workers try to throw the phone to him so he could return it to the customer,” an airline spokesman said.

To reach the mobile, however, he had to hang from the window, which he did not hesitate to do.

“We love to see the goodwill efforts of our employees. We are grateful to see our team trying to help passengers!” the spokesman continued.

According to the airline’s spokesperson, the passenger who found the phone had been talking to its owner earlier, so he was able to tell the staff which flight he was traveling on.
