At least 11 people were killed and 43 others injured in a bus crash near the northeastern Moroccan city of Taza today, authorities said.

The bus overturned on a highway about six kilometers away from Taza. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fatal accident.
Last August, 23 people were killed and 36 others injured when their bus overturned on a highway east of Casablanca. It was one of the deadliest road accidents in recent years in the country.
Almost 3,500 people die each year in road accidents in Morocco, according to data from the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA).
