Air-raid warning alarms sounded across Ukraine – Emergency power outages begin in Kyiv

Air-raid warning alarms sounded across Ukraine, and Ukrainian media reported air defense systems being activated in several parts of the country. There is currently no information on casualties.
A lot of cities in Ukraine are under missile attack right now. Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kherson are all under attack and more missiles are on the way. Also air defense reportedly shot down 4 missiles already.

Reuters and Agence France-Presse correspondents said they heard several loud explosions in and around Kyiv and that anti-aircraft missiles were flying in the sky. Emergency power outages have begun in Kyiv, a local energy provider announced.
“(Missiles) hit one of the capital’s infrastructure facilities. Stay in shelters! Air raid alert continues,” Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko wrote on Telegram.
He did not give details of the infrastructure affected. However, Russian forces have increasingly targeted critical Ukrainian infrastructure in recent weeks, following setbacks on the battlefield following their February 24 invasion.
Russian attacks have caused extended power outages affecting up to 10 million consumers. Ukraine’s national electricity grid operator has announced that more blackouts will be needed across the country.
Ukrainian officials said a newborn was killed in a Russian missile strike that hit a maternity hospital in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Vilnius earlier today.
